According to international standard ISO 13297; Small Craft Electrical Systems, any DC electrical installation can use black or yellow to signify negative. However, installers MUST use yellow as the negative, if an AC system is in the same craft. This is to clearly distinguish to engineers and maintenance personnel between the AC and DC circuits.
